Angry Birds – But Less Birds, More Pigs.
So Rovio, the makers of the massively successful Angry Birds franchise are due to release a new instalment to the mobile gaming world before Christmas, according to reports made by Pocket-Lint.
However, this one comes with a much bigger twist. Unlike previous releases such as Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Space the focus moves away from the iconic team of birds, instead directing the attention towards the viewpoint of the green pigs. This version of the game will still include all of the Angry Birds staple features; a catapult, wood and stone structures and most importantly: a range of abilities.
But this begs the question, “what abilities can the pigs utilise in order to protect those stolen eggs?”. It is unknown to the wider public audience yet, as no images of the app in action has been released. However, Pocket-Lint reports that they have “seen pictures of the app in question”.
Will there ever be an end to the Angry Birds franchise? I mean they will happily plaster their creation over anything. I’ve seen temporary tattoos, iPod/iPhone speakers, and even actual plasters. There also seems to be some sort of collaboration with F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen, with Angry Birds hats.
I had always thought the people would get bored of the same repetitive game, where the only element that mixes it up is a different scenery. Perhaps this is Rovio’s way of countering this? What are your thoughts on the Angry Birds franchise? Have they gone too far? Let us know in the comments.
