Need for Speed: Most Wanted – Pre-Order Bonuses

Another year, another Need for Speed game. It’s as predictable as the new FIFA game or Call of Duty every year. This year the instalment to the the long running NFS game series will pick up the Most Wanted series, following from the 2005 game of the same title – Need for Speed: Most Wanted. This decision was described by Criterion’s Hamish Young: “We looked through the entire history of Need for Speed, and we came across the game. We really loved the premise of being the ‘most wanted’ amongst your friends, which is a really powerful idea”.

However, this year there are a range of added bonuses for those who pre-order the Criterion and EA game, with the variation being applied dependant on the retailer customers decide to pre-order from. These are formed of 3 differing packs, as well as securing the limited edition version of the game which comes with bonus content including four hours of double speed points for the game’s multiplayer mode, the 2012 Porsche 911 Carerra S and the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale.

The three packs that will be retailer exlcusive are as follows:

Speed Pack: The Caterham Superlight R500 in the exclusive Satin Black livery, featuring the Track Tyres Modification for improved road handling, and the Lightweight Chassis Modification, allowing players to reach top speeds

Strike Pack: The Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series in the exclusive Satin Black livery, featuring the Power Pack Powertrain Modification for an engine tuned for torque, acceleration and the ability to reach amazing speeds, and the Re-inflating Tyres Modification making it easier to survive and counter rivals’ attempts to slow players down.

Power Pack: The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor in the exclusive Satin Black livery, featuring the Reinforced Chassis Modification for taking increased damage, and the powerful and violent Nitrous Dump Modification for making tight jumps and powered up takedowns.

The old Most Wanted game was probably one of the best games I owned for the original Xbox so I am looking forward to this one, it looks beautiful. However, I am NOT looking forward to the idea of a Need for Speed film that is being discussed…

NFS: MW will be released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on 30 October 2012 in North America and 2 November 2012 in Europe.
