Ted – Review

Indition are back (but broken) from our week holiday. So let us get back to work…

The creator of massively successful cartoon Family Guy – Seth MacFarlane has decided to have a go at creating a film. Ted is a comedy aimed at adults, featuring a teddy bear that has been bought to life by a young boy’s (John) wish and has grown up with this boy throughout his whole life. This bromance lasts until John’s girlfriend of 4 years, Lori (Kunis), calls him out on his relationship with Ted, telling him to get Ted to move out and live his own life.

And personally I found this film awful. I think any success it does have is due to the existing fan base that MacFarlane already has from his TV shows. The comedy seems forced, and is often shoe-horned into the storyline, completely ignoring the intended key theme that the film is intending to convey to the audience – maturity.

However, the cast cannot really be complained about, each filling their roles well in this awfully written film. My verdict is that this film is possibly worth a watch if you’re bored and have nothing else to watch do, but don’t go out of your way to see it.
