An Idiot Abroad – The Third Series

You may be familiar with the Sky 1 television series ‘An Idiot Abroad’. You may be familiar with the name Karl Pilkington. But I am sure you are familiar with the name Ricky Gervais.

Now, we are eagerly awaiting the Sky 1 airing of An Idiot Abroad: The Short Way Round

Yes, the team is back for another series. Ricky and his ‘partner in crime’, Stephen Merchant, are back again to send their Guinea pig, Karl, on a travelling adventure across the world for a third series. This time, however, Karl will be accompanied by British actor Warwick Davis. The partnership aims to bring humour by provoking Karl’s famous attitude to different cultures as well as seeing the world from Warwick’s perspective. The pair will be embarking on the 5,000 mile journey, as done by merchant traveler Marco Polo, from Venice to Easter Europe, India and China. Ricky’s view on the partnership is that, “Karl once said to me that opposites attract. Warwick Davis is sociable, hardworking and never complains. They should get along fine.”

Ricky claims, “This is Karl’s most epic journey so far. But, despite being a seasoned traveller he is still as angry, confused and naive as ever. At one point he seriously asks Warwick, ‘Do you have knees?’”. Warwick shares excitement for the series to be aired by adding, “I have so many amazing memories of my travels with Karl; the people we met and the cultures we experienced. My eyes were opened to the diversity and beauty of our world. I am really proud of the show, and can’t wait to share it with the viewers of Sky1 HD.” In true Karl style, he adds, “I found that being with happy positive people annoys me.”

Personally, I think it’s going to be hilarious.

An Idiot Abroad: The Short Way Round will be aired from November 30th at 9pm on Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD.
